WHFTO is the World Governing Body the sport of Hunter Field Target which got it's start in the United Kingdom back in 2002.  It differs from other Field Target Styles substantially.  As the name implies, it was designed from the outset to be more like actual hunting.  This has lead to it's wide appeal to both young and old alike.  You can enjoy the thrill of hunting all year round!!

Here is how it's played.   First, there are no sitting shots allowed.   What is allowed are all types of supported shots.  What does supported mean?  Well, the shooter is able to use anything nearby.  A tree, post, fence, etc.  Just like hunting, when you see game in the woods, you look for something to prop against, to steady the shot.  That's just the way it is in HFT.  And while we don't have to stalk the targets, we do end up shooting them from positions of support, just like actual hunting.

 

Also, no scope adjustments allowed after the match starts.  Lower power hunting scopes are what you need.  Whatever pellet rifle you have at home will be suitable for this game.  Single stroke, multi pump, break barrel, C02 or pre-charged, all are at home in "3D Airgun".  And you'll be shooting against competitors with the same style rifles, so all will be fair.
